We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join the Accounting Team at B-O-F as a Staff Accountant reporting directly to the Controller. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for various accounting tasks, including financial analysis, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
Conduct variance analysis and provide recommendations for improvement
Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations
Prepare and file tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures
Collaborate with operations team to track labor costs and ensure accurate allocation of expenses
Conduct regular inventory cycle counts to maintain complete and accurate inventory records
Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to improve financial performance
Assist with the preparation of sales tax returns and compliance with other regulatory requirements
Participate in financial audits and provide necessary documentation and support
Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting standards to ensure compliance and best practices
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CMA certification is a plus)
2+ years of experience in accounting or related field (manufacturing industry experience is preferred)
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles
Proficiency in accounting software or ERP and MS Office Suite (advanced Excel skills are a plus)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Ability and interest in collaborating in a team environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Business partner and team mentality with demonstrated ability to interact at all levels within the organization.
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Normal office working conditions with the absence of disagreeable elements. Dress code is casual. Typical working hours of Monday through Friday (8am-5pm), and on occasion may need to work beyond the normal hours to meet project deadlines. Currently working a hybrid schedule of three days on-site, two days remote.
